International activity of the Baltic Fishing Fleet State Academy (BFFSA) is regulated by the International Cooperation Department, headed by Leonid Meyler who also holds the post as a head of the Transport Organization Department. The International Cooperation Department is divided into two offices: Organizational Office and International projects and exchange Office. The concept of the international cooperation development provides establishment of contacts with foreign higher educational institutions, international funds of development and financing cooperation with Russia and its active participation in international projects.
Main directions of international activity of the Academy
The BFFSA is accredited by the main higher educational institution of the International Maritime Organization – by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology in London. The BFFSA is a member of the International Association of Maritime Universities, it participates in the Baltic University Programme.
The Academy has close partner relations with the Maritime College of Gdynia, the Maritime College of Szczecin (Poland), the Institute of Maritime Transport and Trade, the Institute of Pedagogics in Gdansk University, Klaipeda University, the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Technical High School of Aachen (Germany), the Municipalities of Karlskruna and Kalmar (Sweden), the Poznan University of A.Mickiewicz (Poland), the Pedagogical Institute of Kalmar University (Sweden), the National University of Vietnam, the Technical High School of Wildau (Germany), etc.
The BFFSA has a great experience in training of specialists for foreign countries. The training is performed in cooperation with the Russian Centre “Internauka” targeted at the attraction of foreign cadets and students to the Academy. The International Cooperation Department and the Department of Navigation and Practical Training organize internship for cadets and students.
The activity of the Academy is also aimed at common scientific-research projects. Our Academy set a solid platform for cooperation with Polish, Swedish and German educational institutions and research organizations. The BFFSA is a partner in some projects implemented in the framework of the programme INTERREG in the Baltic Sea Region.
