RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES
at the Baltic Fishing Fleet State Academy (BGA)
You want to start studying Russian or to improve your knowledge of this language, to receive excellent colloquial practice, or to learn to communicate in a professional environment?
We invite you to the Russian Language Courses at the BGA.
We offer you the following programs:
- I WISH TO SPEAK RUSSIAN (from 2 weeks to 1 year)
Individual and group training (min. 5 students) of 'Russian as a Foreign Language' in courses of various duration and intensity -
• for beginners to acquire a basic knowledge of the language;
• for intermediate and advanced students to improve their knowledge of Russian and to get colloquial practice.
- RUSSIAN FOR BUSINESS AND TOURISM
These courses are tailor-made for people who want to work with Russian business partners or who work in the tourism industry with Russian-speaking tourists.
- I WISH TO COMMUNICATE WITH ALL THE WORLD
• Organization of Russian language courses at foreign universities;
• Courses of foreign languages (English, German, Spanish, Swedish etc.) for everybody.
COURSES
Russian
• Mini-groups with 5-7 students
• Individual tutoring
Foreign languages:
• Mini-groups with 7-8 students twice a week in the evening for 2 academic hours.
At the end of your studies you will receive a certificate that you passed the course program.
All courses are held by our experienced teachers in accordance with the Common European Framework's standards for language teaching.
We use only the most up-to-date course books and teaching materials in our multi-media classrooms.
Please note that all tuition fees do not cover expenditures related to
• registration with the Russian Ministry of the Interior
• accident and medical insurance
• accommodation (hotel, host family, or – for long-term students, a place in our dormitory)

THE CULTURAL PROGRAM
We offer our students a wide variety of cultural programs, guided bus and walking tours to explore our city's and region's rich cultural life and heritage.
History, Culture & Traditions of the Kaliningrad Region
Discover Kaliningrad - the unique meeting point of East- and West European, Russian and Asian Culture!
We visit the ancient city gates and the ring of fortresses around Kaliningrad, dating from the 18th century, art museums, galleries, concerts, theatres, cultural festivals, the Kaliningrad life with markets, cafe?s, music clubs, discos and much more.
The Historical Museum, the Museum in the Friedland Gate, devoted to Prussian history, and the 'Otto von Lasch-Bunker' Museum show you what life in Koenigsberg was like from the city's oldest days in the 12th century up to 1947, when the ancient Prussian city was renamed by its Soviet conquerors and became Kaliningrad, its new population originating from all corners of the Soviet Union. You will have a chance to meet authors and people who devote their life to exploring our city's fascinating past.
We will visit the crusader castle at Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) and Georgenburg Castle with the memorial of Field Marshal M.B. Barclay de Tolly, who was the first commanding officer of the Russian Imperial Army during the Napoleonic Wars, as well as other fascinating places.
SOME RED TAPE
1. HOW TO RECEIVE A STUDENT'S VISA FOR RUSSIA?
To receive a visa for the Russian Federation, any foreign citizen needs an invitation to study from the Academy. For issuing the invitation we need from you by e-mail, fax or surface mail copies of all pages of your passport where are specified:
1. First name, surname
2. Date and place of birth
3. The passport's date of issue and expiry (not less than 6 months from the date of entrance into the Russian Federation).
4. Number of the passport
Further we need to know your home address, to which the Academy shall send the invitation.
Please observe that issuing the invitation needs about 6 weeks.
Besides the invitation, for obtaining the visa you also need medical insurance, valid in the Russian Federation. For further information, please look at the website of the Russian Embassy in your country.
Also please bring 4 biometric passport photos, size 4õ6.
