The International Cooperation Department includes the Organizational Office and the Office of International projects and programmes.

The main activity of the Department is to develop cooperation between Russian and foreign educational institutions. Together with the Department of Navigation and Practical Training the International Cooperation Department organizes foreign practical training for cadets and students.

BFFSA has accreditation of the International Maritime Organization (International Maritime Organization) and the London Institute of Marine Engineers (later renamed into the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology), is a member of the International Association of Maritime Universities, and participates in the Baltic University Programme.

Diplomas of the Baltic Fishing Fleet Academy are recognized by foreign states.

The Academy has partnership relations with the higher maritime institutes of:
