Barque Sedov left Cape Town

As part of the circumnavigation of the world, the Sedov has left Cape Town (the Republic of South Africa) and is heading for the capital of the Republic of Mauritius-Port Louis.
During the stay Cape Town, the vessel replenished her food, fuel and technical liquids supplies. The period of that stay was also used for maintenance of ship gears and mechanisms.

In accordance with the decision of the advisory group of the organizing Committee of the circumnavigation, taking into account the situation with coronavirus in the country of call, the "Open Board" was canceled and the ship was closed to residents and guests of the city. An exception was made only for staff of the Russian Embassy in South Africa. They boarded the vessel after a barrier medical examination and body temperature control.

The STS Sedov left Kaliningrad on December 8, 2019. She sailed across the Baltic sea, North sea, the Bay of Biscay and the Atlantic. During her three-and-a-half-month voyage, the ship covered about 14,000 nautical miles.
