Drills on board of the Pallada

The Russian sailing vessel Pallada is heading to the Republic of South Africa to the port of Cape Town, which is less than 400 nautical miles away.
The crew is being busy with pre-arrival routine.
On March 10, the Pallada sounded a training alarm "Fire in the accommodation space". Cadets, shipboys and crew acted according to the muster list and did their job well.

According to the drill script a sailor was injured while extinguishing the fire and he required medical assistance. The first aid was provided by a senior ship's doctor, then the sailor was evacuated by a "coast guard" rescue boat. The drill was finished.

The vessel is following the route of the round-the-world expedition.
After Cape Town the ship will go to Mauritius (Port Louis), Singapore, Brunei (Muara), Nagasaki and return to Vladivostok on June 9, 2020.
