Pallada's Atlantic routine

The legendary frigate Pallada is en route to the South African port of Cape Town.
The conditions are favourable: the sea is calm and one can enjoy the views of starry sky at night. The constellation of the Southern Cross, Orion and Milky Way are magnificent. The countdown to the call at the port of Cape Town has begun. Moreover, Pallada's expedition is going to finish in about 100 days.

The frigate will soon pass Tristan da Cunha islands on the starboard side. This archipelago is located in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world lying approximately 2,816 km off the coast of South Africa, 3,360 km from the South America.

According to the Mst Nikolay Zorchenko the distance to Cape Town is about 2,000 nm. The weather is favourable. Wind force is 7-10 m/s, air temperature is +22 degrees. “Thanks to the weather there is an unhurried pace of life on board. The wind practically does not change its direction,” said Nikolay Zorchenko.
